S3C Central locking / Headlight Bulb Query

Hi All


Just encountered an issue with the cars central locking whereby when I activate the alarm (and the central locking would usually cut in) only the alarm activates, no locked doors (

If I manually depress the door lock in the car (again this would normally lock the doors) nothing happens.

Suspected a fuse / relay issue but cannot see any reference to them in my manual.

Was hoping some kind soul out there might have some experience in this area ??

Also have just had my headlight main bulb fail, could anyone please confirm the replacement part number ) ??

Hi Mike,

Don't know about the central locking problem, but your headlamps are almost certainly H4 type halogen bulbs. They are combined main/dip beam. If you have to replace one, you may like to consider replacing both with an upgrade - for example, Halfords are (or at least were, quite recently) doing a pair of 'super brilliance' H4 bulbs, claimed 50% brighter, for the price of one (about fifteen quid I think).

Hi Mike,

Most of the central locking systems on the S have been retrofitted (or soldered into the wiring loom at the factory). In that case you'll have to crawl under the dashboard and look for an inline fuse, somewhere in the giant heap of spaghetti. Mine was near the steering collumn, but it could be found just about everywhere behind the dashboard.
