Thermal Insulation for Hoses?

My S3c has some sort of aluminised insulation round the hose from the small pipe at the front bottom of the engine to the water pump. As it was certainly very close to the cats I can understand that - however as it is now decatted do I need to put some on this hose when I replace it??
I guess that the ordinary 2.9 S's will be basically as mine is now so do they have the insulation on that hose??

Thers no heat shielding on any of the water pipes on mine S3, just plain rubber pipes.
