Dodgy Yellow Ignition Lead Connector

Just wanted to say thanks first of all to those who had posted about the above over the past several years. I experienced an intermitent ignition fault, power would suddenly cut, and then come back after say 5 minutes. No obvious loose connections. Removed cowls and noticed melt damage to the yellow/black 4 wire connector next to the ignition switch. Did some research on the forum and hey presto!!!
Ex Transit van connector, which TVR appear to have solder spliced into the igntion part of the harness has scorch damage on 2 of the 3 terminals. Cut this out and soldered new leads in, so no more connector. Ignition fault cured and this also cured (as someone said it would), the erratic speedometer.
Car also feels smoother,not really surprising? At the same time cleaned the engine to chassis earth connection and the battery earth to the chassis.
