Fundraising for Leukaemis CARE

Hope I'm not being too cheeky!!

I am running (jog walk realy) the London Marathon on April 13th (I'll have to leave the S2 at home) to raise money for Leukaemia CARE.

I completed the FLM in 6 hours 40 minutes in 2005, wasn’t able to run in 2006 due to an injured knee but did it again in 2007 in 6 hours 42 minutes (those two minutes rankle) and over the three years I have raised over £5000 for the charity Leukaemia CARE.

Leukaemia CARE is a Worcester based national charity dedicated to caring for sufferers of the leukaemias, Hodgkin's and other allied blood disorders. Support includes a 24 hour CARE Line, Regional CARE Teams, involvement with Support Groups and the supply of information and booklets. They can also provide limited financial and holiday assistance. Leukaemia CARE does not offer medical advice, despite many of its Volunteers having experience of the illness.

I have just agreed to let a fellow PHeder have the old door mirrors from my car for a generous donation and I have a drivers side mild steel exhaust manifold to swap for a donation (I guess it will be collection only - Worcestershire), any takers please. I will also be happy to just collect donations.

Hello Folks

Bad news I'm afraid. I have had a flare up of a two year old knee injury and haven't been able to keep up the training. Picture included for sympathy.



So I'm very disappointed personally and feel I've let Leukaemia Care down. I will do the Marathon again, knee willing and hope to make it up to Leukaemia care then.

Norman - that must be really disappointing.

As far as S Club Heaven is concerned it makes no difference - and I guess we may as well say now that Leukemia Care will be the supported charity for this years S Club Heaven event.

I intend to post an S Club update shortly when I have a bit more information together but there are some really stunning prizes for the raffle this year, so folks there's all the more reason to dig deep now Norman is out of action.

Norman I want the money I already sent you to go to the charity please.

Norman, you haven't let anyone down, that looks painful and clearly not good for running at the moment.

You have helped them as we are supporting the cause which we may well not have done. Hope it gets better soon.

Still limping and painful I'm going down to the Marathon tomorrow to help out with Leukaemia CARE, its going to be difficult I so wanted to do it again so much, may be next year.

I have been referred back to the hospital for further investigation. I just hope they can fix it for me.
