Bonnet adjustment
Discussion
My S1 bonnet alignment needs adjusting - the clamshell is chaffing on the n/s wing - I've read how to do it in the Steve Heath bible, but it looks like you need 5 trolley jacks and 6 pairs of hands... I think it will have to be added to the job list for the next visit to Tower View!
In the meantime, does anyone know where I can fing a supply of the little neoprene/rubber sticky pads which stop the fibreglass panels grinding together?

I prefer to use the self-adhesive felt pads intended for going under furniture legs etc. Seem to be much more paint friendly. As in all good DIY shops.
Tried one of those, it seemed just right, but it disappeared after a couple of weeks... I've put another one on now, but there's no substitute for getting the adjustment right!
It isn't too difficult to adjust, provided the bolts that pass for hinges are not rusted solid.
You can go up/down and left/right on the hinges, and then adjust the spring latches to centre them over the hole.
If you chock the bonnet at the front to take the weight, it is easy to do by yourself.
Probably!
