My baby - she sings again (or roars really)

After nearly four months to complete a body off overhaul of the chassis I finally got to the point of turning the key today. Bugger nothing!!! 2 hours of checking and re-checking still nothing but the alarm continually going off for no reason and annoying the neighbours.

Much scratching of my head and then I noticed all the gauges were reading but reading funny levels - lets check the earths I thought. Disconnected the three main earths cleaned them up and hey presto everything working except the fuel pump .

More scratching of heads (by now my son was helping) and check fuse box thought I (as there was no voltage at the pump connectors) - loose fuse found. Turned key and she roared!!!!! Hoorah. Now just need to get bonnet on - 2 new tyres and we'll be back on the road (oh nearly forgot the chancellors theft tally - oops road tax!).

Not too long to perma smile again, although the grin has been massive this afternoon!!!

It's such a gutting moment when you do a big job, then after months of hard work you turn the key with your fingers crossed...

...and NOTHING!

Well done, it must be a fantastic moment when the engine roars back into life - Ive just started putting mine back together, I cant wait to get to your stage. Did you put the body on with hoist or man ?

I am SO jealous! Cant wait to hear the new engine roar....as it is still on the stand in the garage I fear I will be jealous for a bit yet!

It took 7 of us to lift the body back on. Photos will be on my website when I get round to it

Cheers I'll be using the same strategy, none of this hightech lifting contraption tomfoolery (barkychoc / Ken I'm not clever enough to do it your way)- just good old fashion bruteforce and probably alot of ignorance.

I just hope that it turns out as well for me as it did for you.
