when my s2 was running the idle was all over the place and i could not get it right,i could here a slight hissing and suspected the servo but i did not recon on this http://kenpage.myphotoalbum.com/view_album.php?set...
Mine wasnt good but it was a whole lot better than that! Impressed!
It looks like the same servo as my S1, the almost unobtainable SAAB one. Although I got a new SAAB one we do need to find a viable alternative and I also looked at Ford. With the help of a factor friend we tried to find a servo with the same number and PCD of mounting bolts, the same (or very similar) length of brake lever connection arm and fitting, the same bolt sizes, PCD and angular location for the master cylinder. We didn't find one. I hope someone else has more luck and posts the details.

I'm thinking out loud here...
If the system downstream of the master cylinder is the same, and if the pedal movement and position is the same, then provided the swept volume of brake fluid is the same (dia x stroke) it should be a relatively straight replacement.
The bulkhead would need new holes to accept the Ford servo. Perhaps the pedal clevis/pivot point would need to be modified (I've not seen the pedal for the SAAB servo to compare with the Ford Servo) Then just bolt the Ford Servo and Master Cyl in place, reconnect the pipes, discard the old reservoir, fill and bleed the system and Roberts your fathers brother ... No ?

Hi Kevin, I found a Ford Sierra set up which appeared to give the same swept volume for the same same pedal movement. BUT; the bulkhead fixing was by two bolts only and the TVR bulkhead isnt rigid enough for that (the TVR has four bolts), it might of course be possible to strengthen the bulkhead. The Ford set up also projected further into the interior which restricts the pedal area available (not sure if that would be crucial though). Finally, the Ford Sierra servo to pedal arrangement is completely different and, given the possible safety issues involved, I didn't fancy re-engineering this. As I said (for some reason I seem to have posted it twice!) I'm sorted but if anybody thinks they have seen a way forward I will try to check it out with my friendly factor.
