help - my bearings all wrong

Just spend 2 hours getting the bulkhead bearing out single handed and the one that has come out is nothing like what i have to replace it with.
The new one i have has a plastic outer, circle with a line cut out and 4 holes. I've taken off a square metal plate with a rubber gasket and a plastic wheel, looks far cheaper than the one i have bought, but they are completely different designs and i can;t see how to modify it to fit.... any help wouyld be REALLY appreciated !

that hit my technical limit, or maybe because i was seeing red from the bearing problem.... which i have fixed ( read bodged)...
Used the square metal plate and fixing bolts to clamp the new bearing housing in place, had to cut the plastic flange to go round the bolts, but it has worked and is a secure fit. The really weird thing is that the "bearing" i took out wasn;t a bearing at all, simply the plastic triangular colum piece, which turned withing a platic ring, which sat in a rubber housing, needless to say the plastic centre bit was seriously worn, though all the bits did have ford numbers on them. It had clearly been "fettled" before, so i'm wondering if it was some home made jobby.....
Oh well, at least its back together and the steering shoudl be much better !
