As above really. To change my prop (on an S2) I had to remove the diff (including dropping driveshafts), but I'm not sure that even with the prop out you can get the gearbox through the chassis.

Why not remove the engine and box together (bonnet off, well documented on this site) and get the chassis cleaned up while it's out?

Hi there i too tried everything to remove the propshaft but could not. I removed the diff and then its easy. You may as well do this then you can check the diff over for oil leaks etc, any other problems just ask.

Kev, have not tried this myself but it looks possible to undo the four propshaft to diff flange bolts slide FORWARDS to clear the nut in the centre of the diff flange then back and clear of the tail housing. Removing the centre chassis plate to allow downwards movement would definitely help. I would have had a definite answer for you but engine and box are still on bench waiting some gaskets. Good luck.

PROPSHAFT REMOVAL DONE :METHOD: REMOVE THE PROPSHAFT FOUR FLANGE BOLTS, G/BOX MOUNT, THE HAND BRAKE ADJUSTER, THE EXHAUST FROM THE SPLIT DOWN PIPE , THE N/SIDE ROCKER COVER, AND DIZZY CAP,TILT THE ENGINE UP AT THE FRONT AND WITH LOTS OF HUFFING AND PUFFING THE PROPSHAFT WILL COME OUT BUT HAVE A TRAY TO HAND TO CATCH THE GEARBOX OIL
