Keeping my S2 nice and cool

I was getting a bit worried by the temperature guage getting to about half way between 90 degrees and red before the fan cut in, so rather than mess around and fit a new switch in the top hose, I decided to fit one of those Revotec variable temp fan switches.
Fitting it in line was pretty easy...I put it in the top hose line, near to the swirl pot using some hose from an escort at the local scrappy.
the wiring was a bit more interesting. The revotec unit switches a live to the fan, whilst the TVR set up earths the fan relay when it hits high temperature.
I pondered this for a bit, and rather than rewire the whole lot so theunit supplies a new live, or mess around in the fuse box, I wired it up as follows.
The revotec unit supplies a live to a second relay I have mounted near the brake proportioning valve. When the unit makes temperature, the second relay is energised. I have used this relay to short out the existing temp switch.
The unit works really well..you can set the cut in temp anywhere from 70 degrees up. Mine is set so it cuts in just about 90 degrees, and it runs until the temperature drops very noticeably.
Even though this way is a bit more complicated, it does mean that if the variable unit fails, then the existing temp switch in the top hose is still there as back up.
