Insurance - business use

Hi All

My TVR insurance is due in a couple of months so I've started thinking about renewal.

I'm currently insured with Hagerty - who have been very good. Unfortunately, having spoken to them today they cannot offer me occasional business use on any of their policies.

Ideally I'd only use my TVR for business if the weather was good or in an emergency when my dull box is broken. Since my employer has adopted the HSE guidelines in the "Driving at work: Managing Road Related Safety" doccument I need to supply copies of my insurance certs to them - which obviously need to state I am covered for business use. I'm office based but travel to client's sites 3 or 4 times per month.

Has anyone managed to obtain this type of cover for a reasonable price? (I'm currently paying about £180 for social, domestic and pleasure use only)- or am I going to have to face the fact that I'll have to drive my dull box in work hours out to beautiful reservoirs in the county on sunny days?

I've done a search on this forum and haven't found anything. As I said, its the business use thats the important bit, otherwise I'd have no qualms renewing with Hagerty.

Any thoughs?

Hi

I insure through Performance Direct because they allow in their policy 'Use for SD&P purposes including travel to a permanent place of business', (ie not Business Travelling) I have stayed with them as others I have tried incl Hagerty won't cover this. I manage a number of offices and its great on these fine days to take the Tiv. Premium this year £175 for 3000 miles plus £25 for Recovery which I think is OK for piece of mind. Regards. Andy.

Peart added business use to my V8S policy for an additional £35 per annum, so the unlimited mileage, garaged, 67% NCB , business use etc......... policy is now £545.

Mr Martin,

We do allow occasional "pleasure" drives to work, which for example would
include sunny days with roof down etc.
