It will depend on the temperature of the oil and the revs. Mine is anywhere (everywhere) between 35 and 90 according to the gauge. Yours sounds very normal.
Oil pressure is determined by the pump (a huge engine driven thing) and the gaps the oil is squeezed through (not a common issue with the V6 engines). It's a very robust system.

Sounds like you have really good oil pressure (38 is for a worn engine). What should the oil pressure on a V6 be?

Mark - you forgot to say you have a super low mileage exceptional car!
You should see higher oil pressure when cold to when its warmed up - when its warm the oil thins a bit with the heat.
I'd be well happy with those pressures (V8 runs lower pressures than the V6).

Yes forgot to mention that Chris. It does drop a couple of notches when warm.
