Anybody know where to get two window switches for a V8S. They have six terminals on the back and are illuminated when lights are on. The switch itself has a diagram of a door and its frame and when pressed only moves about half a millimetre to make the connection. Details because I believe there are a few variants out there ! Surprise surprise !

I'm sure I've read somewhere (probably on here) that they're from an Alfa, but I wouldn't like to swear to it.

Apparently Alfa ones fit with a bit of modification... not sure what the originals are from though...

From what I recall LeeBee has changed his window switches to oval shaped ones, a bit like in the Griff, so he may be able to shed some light on the situation! I would also be interested to find out too, as I intend to re-trim the dash etc in leather and wouldnt mind putting the Griff switches in if possible!

Have you tried asking the factory? When I had a question about the S3 mirrors they were very helpful and even managed to find a part for me which saved me needing a whole new mirror.

Yup. IIRC, LeeBee changed to the Vauxhall Cavalier switches. The S3/V8S switches are bigger and differently shaped to those.

I know the dash is a different design but think the actual switches are the same, I may be wrong though!!

Does anyone know if its possible to fit Griff switches to an S2, obviously re trimming around them as they are a different shape?? Anyone else done it??

Sounds just like the V8S switches, if so have you considered rebuilding them? They come apart fairly easily and the electrical gubbins inside are pretty straight forward.

Yes I changed the switches in my S2 to the Vauxhall type (they are Vauxhall copies as used by TVR on the Griff etc).

I had to cut out the dash a bit for them to fit and modified the clips that hold them in as the TVR dash is quite thick.

I also changed the illumination in them to green instead of the lovely dog wee yellow that Vauxhall seem to favour!

I think they were about £30 pair (I can check if anyone wants some) although they might have changed price as this was a couple of years ago

Cheers

I would be interested in a pair to go with the rest of the alloy parts I want to get, Where do you get them from?

Could try a Vauxhaul garage or a scrap yard...

I installed Vauxhall type switches in my dash when I was recovering it

Was quite easy... Here's a pic

Admittedly having the dash out made it extremely easy
