HOW MANY S1 WERE MADE WITH THE TWO BONNET PULLS?

Hi guys and dolls just discovered your excellent forum!

I have owned my s1 for the last 12 years and have often
wondered how many s1 were made with the two bonnet pulls
and the main clocks(speedo & revy) sweeping from left to right in the traditional manner.

Hi there, according to Steve Heaths Bible the first 20 cars manufactured had twin bonnet pulls.
The left to right speedo and rev counter has no figures - but it says they were fitted to the first production cars.
Looks like you have a very early car there.

The chassis number may give you a clue

The first digit is the year code - H=1987, J=1988
Then the last 3 digits are the build number that year.

Hi chris thanks for the welcome e-mail.

Funny thing about steve's book 'S series' is the front cover, the electric blue S1 must have been registerd at the same time as my car as the plate on mine reads e35?gby, I discovered the car was bought from the tvr centre Arkley. I was wondering does the tvr car club hold any records on cars/owners location at time they were registered with the club as i can only trace the 2nd owner as am the 3rd owner. And is the electric blue s1 in the bible steves car that got written off?

I think you can get a list of all owners from the DVLA for a fee. Not 100% sure but worth a try.

With regards to Steve Heaths car - ask him! He's shpub on here.
