Can I see your S?

Hi guys I am considering buying a V8 S.
Trouble is I need to check the boot to see if my wifes wheelchair will go in. It fitted in my 350i wedge ok once dismantled but not sure about the S boot.It does fold down fairly small though.

So I am after a favour - is their any S3 owners local to me who would let me come round and give it a go? I am in Wigan so if anyone local is willing to let us view their car that would be great - please.

All the V8's seem to be miles away so it would save us time to just view the boot on a local V6 if they're the same before wasting anyones time.

Hope you can help and maybe we will get to S club heaven!

Hiya, I guess at Leicester I may be too far away, but you'd be welcome if you wish to come down.

I think the V6s have the battery in the front as opposed to the V8S being in the boot, other than that they should be the same.

May be a good idea to go along to your local region?

Hi there, I'm a little closer than Leicester! I'm just SE of Preston. 2 miles from junction 29 on M6. PR5 area. Happy for you to see if the boot on my S1 would be big enough.

You might do it with the roof on but with the roof off and in the boot you've got no chance.
What about a boot mounted rack? Could the wheelchair be stashed on there?
There is also some space behind the front seats - again you'd have to fabricate some sort of rack to hold it, I guess it all depends how small it folds up.

Out of S / Griff / Chim the Chim has the biggest boot, much as I'd like you to buy an S.

Warrington would be easy to get to one evening.
I have a lot on in the next couple of days finding a car for work but will email later in the week. Cheers guys, seems like the S gangs as freindly as the wedge set.

• I Can't face a Chimp just yet I know they have a big boot but not ready for me slippers yet and don't play golf as I still like the wife. - lol stands back!

I'm afraid I'm a bit out of your way (in London), otherwise you'd be more than welcome.

From memory, I think the S boot is significantly smaller than the wedge, but it's still a respectable size for a sports car, especially if you can do without the space saver.

Well thanks to Toms kind offer of letting us inspect his S3 car in Warrington I now know an SV8 is what we need.
Just need to find the right one now.
Tom thanks to you and your wife for the time it was really appreciated what a top couple.
I can recommend Toms car to anyone after a V6 S3, you could eat your dinner off the underneath it's that clean! If only it had 2 more cylinders I would be in there in a shot.
