Spark Plug Gap ?

I have a S3c V6 which has always suffered from poor low speed running ie hesitancy, I have done all the usual things like cleaned the ISC and fitted a new throttle pot all of which never completely cured the problem so I though I would start with the basics.
After checking the leads, dizzy cap and rotor arm which all were ok I thought I would check the spark plugs,first of all I broke one trying to get it out but lucky the car came with a couple of spare ones (cheers Grant) when I had got them all out they were gapped at 0.6mm! According to the S series web site they should be 1.0mm ? My question is does everybody gap their plugs to 1.0mm ? or not ?
The plugs fitted to the car are nearly new NGK BPR6EF V groove.

Hey Tony, The plugs that are in were straight from Halfords and I didn't gap them, I thought they were 0.9 for some reason. When I got the car the plugs in it did not have the tapered seats so I swapped them staight away-hopefully correctly.

I never noticed any hesitancy but you have had the car longer then I had it now. Personally I have never gapped plugs wrongly or rightly and never had any problems.

1 mm looks right

K(mines an S3 so 0.8 for me...)

For some reason the s series website says that the S3 should ne 0.76mm and the S3c should be 1.0mm, I think I will stick them back in @ 1.0mm and let you all know how I get on.

This morning I refitted the plugs @ 1.0mm gap, also some of the screw on nipples were loose on the tip of the plugs so I rectified that also, to say the car is transformed is an understatement, no more jerking or anything and it pulls that bit stronger, so to celebrate I have just done the Cat and Fiddle Pass between buxton and Macclesfield (twice).
so if anybody has a similar problem it is always worth looking at the basics first.
