I drive a wonderful TVR V8S.

Hello Carlo. Welcome to PH. Would love to see some pictures of the car. Didn't know that TVR ever sold the supercharged S. I thought it was only ever a prototype.

I've read about that engine in an S... but didn't realise it was in a V8S.

IIRC it was apparently produced due to tax regs at the time.

Indeed. The Italians had (still have?) a very punitive tax regime whereby anything over 2000cc go hit with a big charge. TVR took the Rover V8 and reduced its capacity to under 2 litres then grafted a supercharger to it, hence the bulge in the bonnet of the normal UK spec 4l RV8 (allegedly)

Unfortunately, in Italy we still have punitive tax regimes...
Yes, It's a wonderful car with a monstrous engine noise

So what sort of power do they get out of 2.0 V8 with a blower on?
They really did get some unusual stuff over there like the Ferrari 308(208?) V8 turbo and the BMW 320is!

Do you know of any others then?

I (and many others I think) thought that this car never made it past the prototype stage at Blackpool so seeing photos of one and hearing that there may be more is very interesting.

Is it fast?
