Rear are Ford Escort Mk4 - oops edited as I originally said Mk3! TVRGIT corrected me below.

Front are a Sherpa Van and very hard to find.

Alternatives are Nissan Terrano, Kia Pride (orange part only), and I think a BMW one fits not sure which one.

The rear ones are Ford Escort Mark 4 - available on ebay or from various motor factors etc.

The front ones are no longer available, except occasionally for enormous prices on ebay. Some owners (including me) have found others that fit, including the 1986 Kia Pride, BMW E30, Ford Maverick / Nissan Terrano, and (I think) Jaguar XJS. A search on this forum should unearth the relevant threads.

ETA Damn... beaten to it!

and as all of these alternatives fit into the recess and do not have the original overlapping flange around the lens, depending on the condition of your lenses you might get away with simply cutting or grinding off the flanges to make a neat edge like mine...

Hi Carlo, make yourself familiar with the 'alternative parts list' http://www.parkersteve.dsl.pipex.com/sparts.html
I suspect you are going to need it! It gives quite a few links to PH postings on parts subjects.
I just bought a very good pair of rear lights for £4 plus postage of ebay and the BMW ones also come up regularly. See this pic for the BMW ones as fitted to my car

Depending on the colour of your car smoked rear lenses can look good. Still the standard Ford Escort fit so they're readily available. Can't remember where I got mine from - I can check my doc's when home.

That is the correct BMW type. Not sure from the advert if that is an indicator or an indicator lens? Not sure if it includes postage or not. If it is one lens only then they come up for a good deal less on ebay, there are dozens for sale on ebay at the moment, from clear to orange and at least two different degrees of 'smoked'. Just search by 'BMW E30 indicators' and you will find a page full! I recommend that you read the alternative parts list link to a PH posting on fitting these lenses, it will also help if your reflectors or bulb holders are corroded.

Thanks again for your reply,
I know this topic has been discussed serveral times, but I can't understand some things...
Once I buy for example BMW indicators, which modifications do I have to make to the bumper to fit these new ones ?
Just insert them and everyting is done ?
Do I have to buy also the bulbs ?

Can please anyone post me a link of a complete ebay item I can buy to make this mod ?
My car fits the original lenses, no modifications where made, but unfortunately now one is broken...

Do you think that if all we owners of this S-Series ask Leyland or someone who makes these parts, is it possible to have a copy of the original one ??
(Not a very brilliant idea, perhaps you have already tried...)
Carlo.

Hi Carlo

Click on this link and you'll see how I fitted similar indicator lenses to my car. They fit INTO the bumper, rather than OVER the hole.

http://www.haggishead.myby.co.uk/TVR/aug06.html#d1...

I only bought the orange lenses, and fitted them to the original units. You might want to buy whole units, which might need a different bulb, I don't know.

I think we have tried to find a supplier of the original lenses, but there's nothing so far. The original ones do turn up occasionally, but they are very expensive now.

Mine weren't - they were from a Kia Pride but the BMW ones fit exactly the same.

Now, how are you getting on with the million questions I asked you? smile

I used the KIA indicators on mine and recently made some inserts to tidy up the ends of rubber bumper strips.
See http://deadpineapple.net/tvr/diary/index.php and it is the 22-May-2008 entry.

This is the link to the PH posting on Kia and BMW lenses. http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
My notes on fitting the BMW ones were:
I can add another source. Checked several options for my S1. Found that BMW E30 front indicator lens is very close fit (full indicator unit will NOT fit). One advantage is these were still available aftermarket in clear and 2 levels of smoked. I've seen the discussion on smoked rear lights and same applies at front. After family discussion we went for light smoked on BRG car, family and friends agree it is improvement. After trying options I fitted lens using bostic, good adhesion and seal. One point; glue approx 1/8" thick plastic washers between body and lens at screw holes or you may crack lens when tightening. While on subject, if reflective surface has gone then the internal reflector from an E30 can easily be adapted to fit. If the bulb holder has corroded then several options, we found for example that some Toyota fittings can be used, need to cut down length of Leyland body a bit. I actually used bulb holders from XK8! (crash job), cut body back a bit and cut 2 of 4 lugs off bulb holder and it now push/turns in and seals perfectly. If you want to go for a smaller, neater stainless screw then simply araldite up the holes in the body and redrill.

This is a link to one of the ebay items listing smoked E30 lenses.
