Fuel pump, source

When I was trying to get my S1 back to life one issue was a defective fuel pump; it appeared to be working fine but a pressure check showed that it would get up to pressure initially but pressure would drop too far when the pump got warm. The fuel pump fitted was a Pierburg, or the type fitted to 2 litre and 2.8 Sierra, Granada, Capri and, to my surprise, 1.6 Orion. My local factor gave the part number as FFP1001, which is an equivalent to the Borsch number quoted in the Alternative Parts List. Cost was £93.00 plus vat or £110 plus vat for a Bosch. I had a look on ebay and found

Cost £46.00 inclusive of vat and postage and I got mine next day and it has been fine.
