getting the s2 ready for the road!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Discussion
hi everyone, after wanting a tvr for years i finally took the plunge at the beginning of june and bought an s2, unfortunatly on a limited budget, so i broke every rule in the book!
It is a 1989 s2 (more like a s1.5 i now know) with no mot and not been on the road for two years, it looked sound enough apart from a leaking water pump an inoperative clutch and a leaking sump, so i paid the money and dragged it home (350 miles).
Got the clutch working (new slave cylinder) and fitted a waterpump, took it up the road and found servo wasn't working and the sump was pouring oil onto the exhaust so much it was surrounded by white smoke.
so out came the engine, s/h cosworth sump fitted (yes the alloy one), new starter, new n/s exhaust manifold, new downpipes, plugs, leads, dizzy, servo and master cylinder, inlet manifold gasket etc etc.
The engine is now ready to go back in so i will keep you posted on progress.
