OK so not quite as impressive a gain as fitting the V8Enhancements exhaust, but I've just finished the full throttle mapping and enough part throttle mapping to get me out onto the road with the 8 Throttle body base fitted and the end result is another 13bhp up to 355.6bhp. This is still on the original lucas injectors aswell, so rather questions all the stuff about having to change to higher flowing injectors hehe

I'm not sure how far I can keep pushing the stock TVR 5 litre bottom end smash , but so far it's been 100% reliable. I am right on the limit of the cooling system though so I'm fitting a larger aluminium rad into the car to try and cope with that a bit better.

Have to say though I'm rather pleased with the way things have gone so far. 355hp for a total of about 7k including buying the 5 litre engine in the first place! .. i wonder how much 355hp would have cost even just a few years ago ? 12k ?

it was indeed. it's a work in progress, though how much more progress we (meaning me and the technical wizards i collaborate with) can make being normally aspirated. Might have to cheat at some point and go forced induction, but I have no idea what a stock TVR bottom end will cope with. I'm very impressed that I've not had any problems so far, this engines has had a lot of stick now and it's still perfect as far as I can tell.

The spec is essentially very simple : I took a std low mileage 5 litre engine and stripped and rebuilt it but just using stock heads rods crank etc, no esoteric parts in there. The cam is a mechanical grind from V8Developments. The ECU is aftermarket / twin coils .. fairly std stuff these days. The exhaust is a V8Enhancements 8-4-2-1 system and the inlet is a raceproved/TCS 8 by 47.3mm throttle assembly. A bit of careful setting up et voila !
