I have just reduced the price to what I would consider an absolute bargain considering I now have nearly £10k in the car, Since I started advertising I have only had two viewers, one I am not sure what happened and the other bought a lotus.
many of you have seen my car at S club, what are your thoughts?
I refuse to go lower the price further as I will just keep it and get a loan for my new house furnishings if it doesn't go soon.

Not sure what to say Grant but here goes - the advert is very honest and the car seems to be reasonably priced - but - there are a couple of minor niggles mentioned in the advert and it is a buyers market at the moment so people can be more choosy and niggles could put some people off even looking at it.
I can understand getting attached to a car and spending the money on it (other than servicing which we all have to do anyway) but we don't always get it back - particularly if it is a bad market when the selling time comes! One thing though - you clearly like the car or you wouldn't have spent the money on it and if you wanted another later on you may find one hard to find at the condition you want - so maybe the answer is to keep it for now and enjoy it.

Grant I'd play up the fuel economy - you and I both know they really aren't that bad but a first time TVR buyer will be thinking '4 litres bloody hell it must drink like a fish'
I'd also say how cheap the insurance is and maybe even make reference to Hagerty or similar so prospective buyers can check out just how cheap it really is.
Take out the 2 lines about the bits that don't work - you can tell them that when they come to view.
Getting prospective buyers to come and look is what you need to do!

Yeah, I think you may be right, thanks for the input.
Are TVR owners likely to suffer worse with his "crunch". I would have thought us S owners would be less susceptable than the Chim and Griffs to fall victim purely down to the classic status (arguably) and rarity.
Maybe I can convince HWMBO that the Tiv is a form of furnishings and that....I'll think of something!!!

My mate tried to sell his e36 M3 evo, had it advertised for 2 months, NO CALLS! The car is mint, priced well, but just the whole car tax/fuel price thing, plus people not taking out loans so happily has hit the performance car market.
To buy my s3 we had to sell the Clio 1.2, 51 plate, really mint car, should have sold in 1st week, but even this took almost 2 months to sell. The 1st person to actually see it, bought it..
I would consider keeping her for a bit..

Grant, we spoke a fair bit at S Club, your car is really nice and certainly VFM. I think many people will be holding off luxury purchases at the moment and so it's a hard time to sell.
Personally, I'd be inclined to try and hang on.

As your car is probably one of the best cars out there I would stick to the price. These are individual cars that attract an individual purchaser. This certainly isnt a mass market car ! Those that want one will have to pay the true price imho.

Grant, we also spoke at S Club, and as I said to you there, I would buy your car in an instant, if it wasn't for one thing: I couldn't bear to part with mine. Yours is a much better car than mine though and definitely worth the money. I certainly wouldn't be giving it away.
A true enthusiast who wants a good car will pay the money for it. If they won't, then they don't deserve a car as good as yours. Do you want to sell your car to a stingy git who might be equally tight when it comes to looking after it?

Ultimately you've got to think of the value (financial or otherwise) you see in the car and compare that to the cost of a loan for whatever else you want to buy. Yes, it is a nice car but it might not sell - Chims & Griffs are now relatively more affordable to buy, the credit crunch etc etc

At the end of the day I'd wait - in my view quality will always sell at the right price

Perhaps because S's tend to be at the cheaper end of the TVR market these are the exact potential owners who would be affected by the current economic climate - maybe someone looking to spend £25k on a Tuscan might not worry about it as much whereas someone spending S money might be more cautious..... (it's a sweeping generalisation I know - I hope nobody is offended by it and can see the point I'm trying to make )At the end of the day I'd wait - in my view quality will always sell at the right price

Cheers guys, thanks for your comments, I feel a little less down about it now especially the reassurance from some that my car is as good as I thought.
Every time I drive it it brings a stupid grin to my face...so I'm really not bothered and I refused to kicked in the balls to get a quick sale.

It's a difficult one.
I had a huge amount of trouble shifting my old daily driver. It was a perfectly good car, it just had a couple of minor faults that I was honest enough to list and price accordingly.
After weeks without any serious offers I re-advertised at a thousand pounds more. Same advert, but people were falling over themselves to buy it - first guy to see it gave me full asking price and I turned a load of others away. All because people thought the same car, described in the same way was 'too cheap' previously - it was its market value, minus the cost of getting it back to mint condition. People - silly, panicky animals, aren't they?
