dash panel removel

does any one no how the dash panels come out on the s3 i no there are 3 bolt on the glove box side but what about the clocks side
great if someone could help

Why do you want it out? A refurb?

it has 2 bolts right of clocks and 1 to left
2 to left of glove box 1 to right

1 to left is hardest ot get to

after all bolts off slowly tilt forward and take 4 bolts off clocks
you will need to take steering wheel and wiper arms etc off to
well i did 2 hours
why do you want it out

Is the dash actually wood? Or is it painted fibreglass?

What colour is your leather - I'm sounding like a stuck record but many of the colours are jag colours so you may be able to get a matching piece of leather fairly easily - unless you're going for black contrast or something.

can you get replacements for the lower wood effect panel on a V8S? mine has the same delaminating problem? or can they be done up?

They can be relaminated, for the lower panel I was quoted £70+vat last year but want to do it myself and if it doesn't work (or ooks cheap) then I'll go the professional route. I am learning many new skills whilst doing up the car and want to try my hand at anything.

Yes, undo the whole centre console (2 screws at back) and slide slightly backwards in relation to the car. You can now access two upper nuts from between dash and center console (it is tight but they are there). Then remove radio and access two lower nuts from radio recess. Panel then pulls out leaving switches in metal plate behind front trim panel. Upper nuts are 1cm in from outer edge and lower are about 1/4 of the way in from the outer edge each about 1cm from the upper/lower edge as apprpriate.

This is easier than it first seems, just take car not to stress the wiring and also take care not to pull the wiring connectors off the switches.
