Am I mad ?

We already have a Cerb, but are debating getting an S2 as an "every day car". It will be used 2 or 3 days a week for a 35 mile commute (each way), plus weekend driving.

Looking around, apparantly we should expect to get mid/high 20's to the gallon - is this right ?

Anything I need to be cautios about when looking at cars (other than chassis condition)?

For things to check use pies' site www.tvrsseries.com. My S3 gets about 26-28 miles to the gallon even when I am booting it around Dartmoor (the level of pedal weight seems to make little difference) and I have had it up to 35 when driving between Portsmouth and Plymouth. But if you want that then you need to stay inside the legal speed limit as it sucks fuel at higher speeds (only tested on a private track of course.)

I've been booting mine, seriously allot and I was getting 23/24mpg. I reckon then on average it's 28mpg. And no, you're not mad.

To answer your question - NO! you're not mad to consider using an S everyday.

Hi,

I use my S2 everyday.... Well that said. I was off the road for a few days, but on the whole since i got her shes been doing 60+ miles a day.

This morning from Slough to Guildford and back, i swear to you all, the monday commute has never been so much fun.

From talking to people on here and experiancing it myself, it may get tirsome in the winter months, wet legs ect. Also driving in the wet can seem like hard work if driving a lot everyday.

Hope that helps.

Although on the plus side, servicing and maintanence when it does go wrong, will be a lot cheaper than a modern sporty counterpart.

Me too. Do it. I'm the opposite, I'd like a Cerb as an everyday car(/street-race car) and my current S as my weekend joy as you can take the roof off. Wonder how they differ to drive.

Hi, I live near Ledbury but sadly don't have an S at present, I currently have a Chimaera on the drive... must swap for a V8S soon!
