...ok, it's not as exciting as 'body back on', but got the car back on the ground for the first time in a week and a half last night and couldn't resist a quick trip out.
The difference in the steering after fitting four new Bridgestones is pretty huge. The steering feels much lighter and there's much more detailed feedback about the road surface. Also, the side walls feel a lot stiffer in bump - the ride is noticeably harsher.
It now turns in so much quicker, but it doesn't feel quite as stable as before. I suspect the latter is just a temporary thing though; it's been on full droop for the best part of a fortnight, so it's currently riding on tip-toes still and also the tyres are brand new (fitted 10 minutes before I went out) so I guess they'll take a few more trips to bed-in.

I had a similar feeling once after new boots fitted - turned out the "well known national tyre centre" that fitted them had put way to much air in the tyres despite me telling them it should be 24 on all 4. Might be worth checking

Might be worth checking The tiptoes comment was actually physically the ride height - when we first lowered it (back onto the ground) the springs had yet to return to their normal length after a week and a bit on full droop on the axle stands.
Will definitely check though. The other thing is a psychological element - it's much more responsive to small steering inputs now and I suspect this is probably a positive change that just feels a bit unnatural after the old (very mixed!) tyres it was on before. Certainly felt different!
