Taking the S abroad - Spare Bulbs

Planning a short trip over to Europe in the next couple of weeks so getting the car ready with all the necessary bits and pieces.

Does anyone have a list to hand of the spare bulbs that should be carried?

I think places like Halfords do a pack of spare Lamps for this scenario, I would be tempted to just get a pack from there.
Dont forget you need other bits like a warning triangle to be legal abroad (I'm not sure about here actually, maybe just new cars)

Just been out to the car and had a look at whats in the pack I bought for the Yaris for coming to France. The headlight bulb is an H4 so the same as the S. The spare brake and indicators look the same too. The sidelight bulb is different but from memory the Tiv ones are about £1.50 for 2 from Hellfrauds. You also get a load of fuses in the box and one other bulb which I presume is either reverse or foglight. They all look the same. Whether they are or not is another story though!! I'd say have a look at the set marketed for the Yaris (and others I'm sure) and you'll be in the right ballpark.

Don't forget the flourescent waistcoat/jacket which is now a legal requirement to carry in the car in France (and maybe some other places too) - read the other day some police are stopping people and asking to see them as an easy revenue earner.
When I went to Le Mans a few years ago I just went through the list in the Steve Heath book and got them that way as I doubt anyone will do a set for the S - but as said above many will be the same as other cars .

I believe the flourescent waistcoat/jacket must be in the cabin NOT the boot

I got a Halfords bulb kit for a Ford Sierra (I bet they don't do them now), but added a couple of missing bulbs / fuses for the S.

And you need one for each person in the car. Only a couple of quid each so not worth risking it with Le Plod

Don't know need 'LHD' dipped beam converters too?

I think that, plus the flourescent rave jacket is all you need. Or is a GB plate still a requirement?

Hi Liam,

Understand you may visit the 'Ring' soon and may want some info. I got back last weekend from the Old Timer and took the time to complete some laps.

There was more than met the eye with this trip, but I can't wait to return.
