Oil Pressure Sender

Having some time off woek at last, I thought I'd have a look at the small oil leak on the engine. It is coming from the bit where the oil pressure sender screws into the block. However, before I take it out and attempt to reseal does anyone know of any pitfalls?

Also is it sealed purely by the thread form as it looks like it is, or is there a copper sealing ring or similar?

Any advice welcomed

It should be a tapered thread on the sensor but I'd use some thread sealant as a precaution.
