Grounded Out - One time too many

I think I must have grounded out one time too many yesterday as my S took on the aural characteristics of a WWII fighter. After a very LOUD journey home I discovered that I'd managed to disconnect one of the manifolds from the rest of the exhaust.
After a few whacks with the trusty bit of wood I keep in the garage for stirring paint (yes, I've become my Dad) I've managed to slot everything back into place, but I was suprised that there were no clips to secure the manifold to the rest of the exhaust. So I'm wondering....is this by design, or do I just have some U clips missing?

I think one of your previous low flying bombing missions must have taken a clip off.

Mine has U clamps at each end of the 'hockey stick' between the exhaust and the manifold.
