The S2 doors mirrors are prity useless imo. have heard MX5`s can be used & black cab, I found this on the net, they are off a Matiz. Just wondering how you remove originals as they are bonded in ? do you just cut then flush to the body ?

There ia an excellent thread on here somewhere by some nice chap which shows exactly what to do to fit Audi TT mirrors. I even emailed him and he sent me some more pics. Have a search.

They do look good with the MX5 mirrors, know them well as have owned 3 5`s in the past. I am going down retro route & going to fit a set like these. Maybe not a cool as TT type but I like classic looking cars.

I've got the cab ones which were an official option to give electric mirrors to the S2 - didnt bother to wire them up though keeping it as simple as possible.

The mirrors unbolt from the inside. Piece of cake!I use MX ones and theyn are fine. Demon Tweeks do a good range of mirrors. I imagine any set for an early MX5 will fit.

I think I may be that nice chap (not often called that) If you want to go the Audi TT route then PM me your email address and i'll send my write up.
They are by no means a simple bolt on job but, IMHO, look by far the best out of all the options.

Norm,

I've got rear lights like that on mine now - picked up off flea-bay for £5 the pair (£7.50 with delivery). IIRC they are from the Mk4 Escort and there are many aftermarket versions including slightly smoked and clear. Just make sure you get ones with the kite mark or you'll fail the next MOT. Mine needed a very small amount of filing to fit the recess as they were slightly (about 2mm) wider at the back than the originals.

Done in under an hour though and if your car is the right colour it transforms the look.

The rear lights were a set of new replacement clear/grey units and lightly tinted by me with a red tinting spray which came out really well and looked OEM.

The high level brake light was a Jaguar XJS cabriolet unit as fitted to US spec cars.

Mirrors were standard Audi TT electric and heated mirrors and fitted quite well but with a fair bit of surgery to the mounts.

My rear lights are 'smoked' with a CE mark (needed for MOT) but not as 'nice' as yours

Lovely S Kentish. May I ask what those wheels are? I really like them. Nice mirrors too, I'll like to change my mirrors...

Thanks, yes I miss the old S frown

The wheels were Wolfrace CAM 295.
If you are going to change your wheels go for a set to fit Peugeot 4x108 b/c they have a much more suitable offset for the S.
