Ketvrin had one done not long ago - might be worth searching his posts.
Doesn't sound a fortune to be honest.

A total guess but won't it be a shortened sierra propshaft?

I replaced the prop shaft UJs on the S3C some time ago; the ones I used were Hardy Spicer Ref HS 195 (so I assume the same for other 2.9 engined cars - not sure re the S1/2.8 though). These have a grease nipple fitted so it is easy to drop the exhaust a bit and get some grease in each year which does give a noticeable difference.
The fun bit is getting the prop shaft off the car; we couldn't work out how to do it so clever friend managed to change the UJs with the shaft in the tunnel - bit of bad language there...!!

The comments about the diff mounting bracket on the linked post above was something I thought about and sussed out when taking my gearbox out. If you follow the method (steps 3 to 7) here the Propshaft can be removed in under 10 minutes (once the exhaust is off). It is really quite simple but fiddly and there is another thread on the site covering it, but my work computer will not allow a search so I can't link it. Also watch for the oil escaping from the back of the gearbox all over your chest unless you are on the level on a lift or over a pit.
