Spares or Winter project
Discussion
My wife and i have found the house we could never have afforded before the credit crunch and are moving in the next month or so.
Our new house doesnt have the room for me to renovate my S1 as i'd hoped, plus i will be commuting alot more.
So, my S! has to go. Anyone looking for a project or donor car for keeping theirs on the road? I have a brand new pair of front indicators to go with it!
I will be putting it in the add's on here and ebay in the next week or so unless someone wants to make me an offer? To be honest i just want to get rid of it and make a couple of quid towards the move so not after much.
It would need a trailer to collect it.

Sure, i'll bung some photos up a bit later.
I've had the car now for about 5 years. I moved to Asia for a couple of years and stored it away in the inlaws garage. Got it back out a couple of months ago intending to renovate it. As i say, are now buying a house so cannot realy go ahead with a body of resto like i'd have liked.
The engine runs and has only done 52k(ish). However will no doubt need a service. I have started stripping it down to paint and repair but havent got very far (only really removed the cooling system and bonnet).
Have looked over the car and noted the following problems, hence sudggesting it as a donor car for an S1 owner:
a. Drivers side trailing arm rotten (passenger side in pretty good nick).
b. Inner rim of tyres worn sudgesting shocks need replacing.
c. Clutch slave cylinder siezed.
d. Brake servo could do with replacing.
e. Fuel sender inop.
f. Steering UJ's rusted.
g. Doors sagging.
h. Roof & interior in average condition.
i. Wheels could do with the paint removing and polishing to look their finest.
j. Needs new battery.
k. Radiator seems solid to me, but i fix people, not cars.
On the plus side the brakes had not long been replaced (standard discs and pads) along with the exhaust (again standard). It has a lovely momo wooden gear knob and steering wheel (plus original) and is in the colour combination of black with cream leather.
I wasnt able to lift the body to look at the chassy so cant vouch for it. It looks reasonable to me, but would imagine its going to need a body off and some work doing.

As i say, not after alot for it. Could strip it and sell some of the bits on ebay (indicators would probably bring in a bit) but could do without the hassle.
