Your Thoughts Sought
Discussion
I am undecided as to whether to use the metal surround for the heater controls or not on the refurbished dash. I think both ways look good, so thought I'd seek some others opinions.
I think the risk of not fitting the metal is that the plastic covering could wear over time as the sliders are moved (fingers rubbing against the fascia) but the disadvantage of fitting it is that it will sit slightly pround and there is always the risk of it dropping or being caught and torn off leaving a damaged backing.
What does everyone else think.
Barkychoc. IMO the small one doesn't look right at all - if you go for more don't bother with the small one.

Thanks - I was leaning that way, I can always hold onto it and if the edges get caught add it later. What I think it could really do with as 2 metal ovals that just cover the edges of the two oval slots (like Levens dashboard air vent inserts) - but I've not seen anything suitable to date.

For the thin strip option I was thinking of having something like this made in a glossy resin style sticker (approx 3mm thick in the centre).
This would probably work better with those that have the black plastic surround - I believe wedges also have a similar arrangement so it may be viable.
It would not have the steps you can see between the red & blue - thats as good as I can show it as a jpg.
Everyones thoughts on this appreciated.
It would have a black background as shown.
The resin style badge edges taper off - so it would not have a step at the edges.
Option1

Option2 (No silver on temp graphic - I like this best personally)

Hi Chris
S1/S2 control

The center 'temp' strip is 13mm x 115mm BUT sliders are almost flush with the surface so if the s1/2 owners wanted to join in the the edges would have to be very thin OR the gap between the slider controls is 9mm so strip could go between if norrow enough.
What size is the S3 version? Without the silver for me if I can use it

As you say just be careful when moving the sliders not to rub the edges.
