still no ignition....
Discussion
I'm sorry to put my problem back on this forum again (see my topic of friday )but I checked the entire circuit, changed the distributor and the module amplifier...no result.I just can't understand why
the voltage at the coil dissapears as soon as I connect the wiring to the distributor, no matter the position of the rotor.
I'm really stucked.
By the way, does anybody knows if another electronic ignition system is available for this engine.I remember I fitted a Bosch kit from Burton Power , with the electronic module directly fitted on the dizzy, so no problem of wiring, connectors , just fit the dizzy, connect to the coil and power supply and that's it. It was for a 4 cylinder Ford crossflow, so I don't know if it's available for a Cologne.
THank you

You need to follow the connection back from the + side of the coil.
I think it will be a poor connection somewhere.
If you have a poor connection (as opposed to none) then when nothing is connected it will show as 12 volts with a meter - as soon as something is connected the voltage will fall due to the bad (high resistance) connection. With a good connection it would not fall.
Can anyone enlight what the ballast resistor consists of?
