Just wondering which is the best route for the 3/4" hose which comes from tank to fuel pump. Mine runs along the inside on main chassis, as it is I think its quite close to the exhaust. Any idea if this is correct route?

On the S3 the pipe comes under the tank up inside the tank frame then along the outside of the chassis rail then back inside to the pump. I have some photos if you need them.

i`ve just replaced my fuel hose on my V8S. Mine was routed down the right and side of the chassis, but the gear lever rubbed through which i thought dodgy being above the exhaust. i have now routed it down the left hand side and it crosses over to the right hand side after the gear lever. much safer i feel.

The marks on the pipe are where it was held to the chassis with zip ties.

Hi tony,
just been in garage & was wondering if hose would route in between to 2 chassis sections next to tank, now know it will & am deffo going to run it the side yours is on (mine was on inside parallel with exhaust)
Thanks very much for posting the pics, this site is great a big help to newbie TVR S owners.

No problem, outside the chassis rail sounds better, petrol, hot exhaust and fiberglass not a good mix. I presume you are putting new pipe in it would be a pig of a job trying to bend the old armoured pipe a different way around the chassis rails.

Mine has the same route. Here is an alternative view leaving the tank:

The thread is where I have introduced an inline filter.

Having moved hose about alittle I think its new it is quite flexible. My S2 has had a full chassis etc rebuild (only finished resently)

I think you're in a catch 22 situation here.
Inside the chassis its near the exhaust (my V8S has some silver heat shielding round it).
Outside the chassis may be worse as it will get hit by stones from the wheels / road.

Know what ya saying! personally I would prefer to keep fuel lines away from heat source. I do have access to heat insulation material of various types but am going to re-route as don`t think hose will get damaged by the odd stone etc.
