What Trickle Charger ?

All the Griff / Chim boys swear by Accumate.
This one I think

bit it might be worth just asking on one of those forums to be sure.

I bought an Accumate a few months ago after getting fed up with the continual flat battery senario and have had no problems at all since.
I felt at first that it looked a little basic and dare I say 'low tech' but after all the positive comments on internet forums I gave it a try.
So far Its performed exactly as I'd hoped and the car starts first time after having been left for weeks without use, where as before I was lucky if the battery held charge for more than a weekend!
It also comes with a 'fly' lead that you can permanentley fix to the battery terminals so that connection to the charger is quick and easy.

I never used a trickle charger and didnt have any problems, one thing to remember David is that the battery has a 5 year warranty from earlier this year in case it doesnt charge up again. Should do as its a top quality Bosch one.
Glad you are still enjoying the car, definitely the most fun car for the money and you know you have one of the best V8Ss there is, enjoy.

There was a similar thread on the TVRCC site recently and whilst the Accumate was well respected the CTEK XS800 was also advised as very good; I found one on Fleabay for £25.99 which I collected from the local depot of the people concerned but they would post for I think £6.50 for next day dely. Its been on for a few weeeks now and seems excellent - it also has a 5 year warranty which is useful and comes with 2 connection leads; 1 can be permanently attached to the battery and the other has croc clips.

Like the idea of connecting a fixed wire from the battery, guess it can be left under the front end somewhere for quick connection without lifting the bonnet. Have a Halfords charger at the moment which has a maintainance setting, still don't leave it on for more than a couple of days Generally just charge it up once a month.
I've been using an Airflow Battery Conditioner for about a decade. It is wired to an in-line plug that I've mounted on the o/s inner wing, so it can be attached easily.
I found a Trickle Charger in Lidel one day it's German (Tronic automatic Battery Condition charger designed to give 6 & 12 volt batteries sufficient charge to keep them up. I ran a cable from the battery across the chassis and up the passenger side of the engine comp & thro the bulkhead with all the other wires and passed it into the glove box.
I connect the charger to this via a two pin cable connector. It works fine The S now starts every time. Its other advantage is that I can see it when I get in the car there is no chance of forgeting it is connected a backing out of the garage with it connected.
