I don't know whether its the cold, but I can't figure out how to detach the throttle cable from the engine end (2.9 V6). There seems to be a swivelling metal clip with a nylon insert in it. I'm sure its easy but I don't want to break anything. Thanks Andy confused

Andy, I think the metal clip just slides off, It`s springy so it`ll be tight, allowing the nylon socket joint to pull apart.

Andy

Steve is correct it just a little spring metal clip that needs sliding one way or 'tother BUT they can be very tight and when you lever with a screwdriver or similar it could/will go flying off and bury itself in the innards of your engine never to be seen again so take great care

Andy, What the others have said with regard to clip, but if you put a loop of insulating tape over the top (loosely) of the clip and bracket then as you lever it off it can stop the "pinging effect"

Now some pics not the throttle cable but other linages to show the 'clip' on and off

ETA note the 'straight' slot will be installing next week when Gerald is back to see if the difference is worthwhile

Totally agree with the above. I'm 3/4 way through outrigger repairs which only looked a small job from underneath. Now found some corrosion at the back after giving the chassis a severe seeing to with a wire brush. Even if you can't weld yourself I would recommend taking the body off and doing the cleaning up yourself so you no the full extent of the problems. See my thread "Another body off" I started at Christmas. Good Luck. Andy wink
