I've read through many topics suggesting which tyre for my S3.....

I am going to replace all of them before the MOT next Wednesday.

Which ones and Where..?

Does anyone know of any special deals?

Micheldever? Who's the best in South area?

Thanks for any replies...

A lot swear that the RE720 is a very good tyre for the V6 S's. Re Micheldever get a quote from them and use it as a bargining chip for a local place if possible. If you do go there avoid weekends as apparently you can queue for hours.

I'd go for the RE720's also as I've found them to perform very well on road and track, look at Black Circles as endorsed by PH!

I just got a set of four S03s for my jap box at £91 a boot, the best offer I had elsewhere was £110.

Personally I wouldn't go for lower profile 55 tyres as ground clearance is bad enough already!

I've done a bit of research recently through the archives, as slamm's newly purchased S3 needs a new set of boots.

As others have said, it looks like the RE 720s are the ones to go for, but I'm having difficulty in finding anywhere with them in stock at the moment, but they should be available within a couple of days.

I'm trying to get them through www.tyres-online.co.uk, who offer a mobile fitting service.

If you don't fancy queuing for hours then www.buyatyre.com/ will fit at home . Check but I think the price quoted is an all in one so at £77 a corner it is a bargain for RE720's IMHO.
Let me know if the price is all in and nothing is hidden if you get a quote as I'm considering using them myself in the not too distant.

Errr.. the RE71's were very soft in the sidewalls from my memory of them.. theres quite a lot of S02 PP's floating around at the moment too for much the same money..

Cheers
Matt.

Thanks, but the only problem is that Mel can't get time off work to get the car anywhere in the week, and we don't have any free weekends for a while.

Tyres-online offer out of hours fitting, at an extra cost, which may be the only option avaliable unfortunately...

Cool - Black Circles have a centre just about 1 mile away, and I've booked Mel's car in there for next Sat first thing! Cost is £74 each, including VAT and fitting!

I definitely agree! I seem to remember it works out to about 1cm difference to the ride height of the car. And you need every cm you can get.

I've used both RE71s & RE720s (including trackdays) and the new tyres are just as good as the old type.

RE720's on a 60 profile.

Wet grip is pretty good too... IMHO

yep, another vote for RE720's mate, although seem to remember I said that at the H & C last time. Better ground clearance than SO3's, cheaper, and IMHO a better all round tyre if using the car in the wet as well as the dry.

If anyone in the Bracknell area needs tyres, Bracknell Tyre and Battery (01344 411323) is the cheapest in the area in my experience. This was confirmed for me when one of the other companies I spoke to said, when asked to match their price, "You won't get them that cheap anywhere else. I don't know how he manages those prices and stays in business."
