Brake Upgrade - Has anyone used these?
Discussion
Has anyone used the Sierra Cosworth 2WD multi-pot calipers for an upgrade? I have an opportunity for a full set up with grooved discs and redstuff pads for an extremely good price but want to make sure the calipers will fit before I go for it.
My concerns are with the width and mounting points rather than the disc and caliper diameter as with my 17" wheels there is loads of room diameter wise.
Cheers

You have to enlarge the bolt holes using a drill (12mm from memory), then they bolt straight on. I went for the two pot cossie calipers with washer spacers to get the offset correct. They weigh less than the 4 pots, are cheaper to source, simpler to plumb and do a fine job. I admit they lack the kudos of 4 pots though.

Hello chaps
Mine does indeed have the 4 pots fitted (well remembered Chris), although I don't know what was done to fit them ...they were fitted before i bought the car.
Looking at the pads, I'm pretty sure they would have come from a 2wd sierra cosworth. The brakes are very good, although I keep meaning to change the pads for a different type, as they do work best when warmed up a ltttle, and they could do with a ltlle more initial bite
I've got some photos if you want me to mail them to you.
Cheers

Thanks all I have decided not to go for this as the 4 pots need the flange machined to get the offset plus drilling and a nut and bolt to secure as the 4 pots female thread is in the wheel carrier not the caliper. I don't want to do this much modifying to a safety area of the car although I am competent enough to do it I am not sure the insurance company will see it that way.
The 4WD sierra Cosworth calipers are as per the current ones except the wheel carrier hole does require drilling to accept the 12mm bolt. Therefore I'll keep my eye out for some of these or 260mm ones.
Thanks for the help as always.
