Hi,

What toe settings do you recommend for the S3?

I've got the bible which states the official figures, just wondered what settings people on here who've track their S run?

Also, if we have any vehicle dynamics bods on here, can someone remind me what effect altering it either way has? (The car is superb at low speed, but twitchy at high speed and the only significant change during setup was the front toe. Not having had it on a track before the suspension changes I don't know if this is a new thing or not.)

Cheers,

Chris

I asked a similar question regards what people run from experience and had the book values quoted back. They're probably a safe place to start but the best thing to do is play with the settings and learn how they impact the feel.

When you say it is twitchy at speed - is that on smooth roads, on the straight, on bends?

There is one chap on here (trackcar?) who appears to have played a bit and in various posts of his there were snippets of info.

For info, I use 20 minutes toe in on the front and 30 min toe in on the rear - both readings across the pair. The biggest change came from getting both rear wheels evenly matched. I did have 10 min toe in across both wheels but the offside was toe out and the nearside toe in. When adjusting the offside so that it was pointing the same degree in as the nearside I ended up with the 30min toe in. From that I work out that the NS was 15min toe in and the OS was 5min toe out.

Ride height does make a difference to - I run 165 front and 175 rear measured to teh chassis rail at the center line of the appropriate wheels.
