I saw it had no bids but of course you never know who's watching... you got it anyway, well done
ps there's a DLB125 coil on there too (a bit second hand) and they are like rocking horse doo-doo's

My S3C has a very similar coil on it - note the male connection (very sexy!!)- its OK (...famous last words ??) but for info what is that off in case I need to get one??
Anyone know?
Jim
PS I know the advert says Granada, Xr4i etc but is that the standard coil for those? My Granada/Sierra books shows the normal cylindrical one.

I honestly don't know what the advantage of the dry coil is (or even if there is one) except that it has a male terminal end, and so soes my distributor cap, not female fittings as normal.
It's not a TVR thing, my 1990 Granada 2.9 had exactly the same setup.
I went to Ford for a new cap and leads for the Granada at one point (this would be in about 1998) and their parts list only had one number - he ordered it and I got the wrong leads and cap. On double checking, he ordered the alternatives - this time I got the right leads but a different wrong cap.
Went through exactly the same grief to buy new leads for the TVR later - first the wrong ones and then the male-terminal ones.
But it WAS standard on Fords at the time, I looked at a few and they were all the same.

No probs... no, as far as I know there is no benefit, its just that these dry coils seemed to have been fitted to some cars... those with cats by the look of it ?? I dont see them on ebay that often so when this one came up I thought I would flag it up...

Don't think it's just cars with cats - my Granada had no cats and neither had most of the others I've seen with that coil. I don't know why some had male distributor and coil terminals, and some femaleK
