Finally decided the rocker covers need something doing to them, so they are about to come off.

On a couple of threads its been mentioned about the Ford gasket being better as they have some metal rings or spacers. Is the part number on the alternative parts list the correct one for these? if not does anyone have the Ford part number.

I tried my local Ford dealer but they were no help as they insisted that they needed the car reg number to bring up the correct details or the correct part number.

I'm considering getting something done to the plenum also, so does anyone have the gasket part number for the plenum to inlet manifold.

Slightly related to this, I've just acquired a copy of the Ford parts software but cannot get the thing to install properly frown

According to the Ford invoice for mine the part number is F1651474 and they should cost £3.92 + VAT each.

Hope this helps

I had the same problems with Ford, if you haven't got a reg they have no idea, i was told by 2 different dealers that their parts record doesn't go back that far - useless. Needed various gaskets during winter/project cleanup (eventually now finished - i have a life back), it took a while to track down the plenum chamber gasket for the 2.9, from invoice and label its ford part no.1659956,
Hope this helps,

Ian

Thanks for the code.

They can do it without a reg number as a while back I needed a hose (I think it was the hose from the offside rocker cover to plenum). We managed to get to a diagram of the engine, the hose shown is very short where as our rocker covers are on the opposite side so a longer length is needed. The same pipe is used else where (but is longer), so ordered that instead.

It's just down to the staff. The above was a young lad who asked loads of questions about TVR while looking.

If you still have problems getting hold of the gaskets let me know. I am quite happy to order them from my Ford guys and post them on to you.

Cheers

Could try David Gerald TVR, I paid 10.50 + vat recently and they are the proper self adhesive ones, stick to rocker covers, much easier to fit !
