Last night at 5.45 my immobiliser decided to pack up. Well half of it did, the ignition still worked, so the thing would turn over, but the fuel pump was not having it. I fiddled around with the spaghetti junction of wires for a bit and the alarm box, but nothing.
Eventually RAC man turns up and after testing a load of things was not getting far. We decided to rig up a live feed from the battery, this runs its way down the disconnected drain pipe and down to the pump. Works like a dream and only problem is I have to disconnect the thing when I stop.
RAC man was very good, so hats off to him for spending nearly 1 hour with me. He did not seem to have a clue what the car was, kept referring to it as a TR……, (Triumph !!!!!!!! perhaps
). He did comment that the build quality was very good and it was a real solid car
This weekend I will have to spend finding out the real cause of the problem and fixing it, have to decide if it's the immob, or some kind of relay for the fuel pump. Does anyone know if the pump is on a relay, or just a direct feed.
The thing that gets me is it appears the cars was not at fault, but the crappy Maystar alarm.
Anyway, at least it’s mobile,

Had a similar problem with mine and it was the fuel relay. Various well documented threads on here about the relay probs. The giveaway with mine was that normally I would hear the pump prime when the ignition was first switched on but with the fault there was silence which led me to check the relay. Unfortunately not all of them have a priming sequence I understand.
