Gearbox removal help please
Discussion
Indeed it will ! many years ago when I was in the trade we would either use the plastic bung that came with a new gearbox or the front yolk from a scrap prop shaft (its a bit combersome but can actually leave prop shaft in ). of course the other way is to drain box before removing.
have fun what ever route you go,

My memory isnt what it used to be (and it bad then) but I think i have read in a post that once the prop shaft is removed gear oil will leak out if the gearbox is tilted - tried to find the thread and failed
The full method is on my site Norm with piccies. www.gbsportscar.com and it will leak unless you can do what above poster has recommended/suggested.Mark

) then it sounds like some technology like a plastic bag and tape or a cable tie is called for!
