Just picked up an engine
Discussion
From that S3 project with a spare engine, it's in bits at the moment but it looks fine. Will take some picys for you chaps! Sorry Norm, this came up and wasn't too far.
I think this is going to take more work than first reckoned...so I'm definatly in need of assistance and advice. New manifolds/downpipes are on order and being made as we speak. Going to take the bonnet off this afternoon and get hold of an engine hoist and a engine stand.
Bonnet is now off, along with the rad, swirl pot, air filter stuff, and numerous hoses.
Now we have an engine hoist, we shall now begin taking the heads off to check them out before going further. If it's a valve spring of something, woo.
I doubt it somehow so I'm breaking the gearbox with the engine and going to get her out and see what's wrong. Then a uprated cam and gas flowed heads, and a lime green engine and chrome rocker covers. Hopefully get hold of some lime green HT leads and hoses!!! Should be a custom company out there, most probably American.
