I think I am going to have to sell my S1.5. It needs a new roof and tarting up internally. Mechanically it is sound and would have a years mot. Am I better off geting the work done prior to advertising or sell it a bit cheaper? Any advice?

Customer car dealer of mine informs me that 2nd hand cars have gone up around 30% over the past three months including classic cars therefore dont sell it too cheap !

Hi Petertheboro - sorry but I took the photo while my daughter drove it - must admit I used twice as much fuel each session that she did (but it was her first time in the car and had never been to a race track before. Glad to hear that it was the second quickest car as I could not tell while I was driving - It was running through a 32mm restrictor (as for rallying) - I had to sell as the MSA would not allow one offs to rally anymore.

second hand prices are cr@p at the mo - I sold it for just over £5k - plenty of lookers but no one with money - now rebuilding an S1 to rally

Hi. Personally when buying (currently looking for an S2 as I prefer the 2.9 engine) I would go for one that the work had not been done on. That way I can make sure any repairs are done to my satisfaction. I went to see one a while ago where the owner had decided the interior looked grubby so had redyed it, needless to say it was not to my taste as it was very bright and stark, However I guess there are people out there that would prefer to have the car all sorted. So IMHO you can do either, however, you may not get the full cost of the repair back.

Thanks for the comments. I think I will at least get a new roof put on. Then think again. I love the car but just don't use it enough to do it justice!!
