Has anybody got a photo showing the alternator support brackets in place on the engine/alternator on a 2.9. Just come to put mine back together after having them powder coated and discovered my camera memory card has failed.

Also any suggestions on how to get powder coat out of the thread as they didn't block them of while applying the powder coat.

You'll probably need to use a tap of the correct thread form - you could try using a bolt having first used a hacksaw to take a couple of threads off - this will give a sort of cutting edge - may be slightly harder to start off but worth a try as a no cost option.

I used a bolt with an X cut in the end of it with a hacksaw - the hacksaw cut gives a cutting edge a bit like a tap.
Powder coat is pretty tough though you may need to resort to using a tap.

Pics as requested BUT the 'J' shaped adjustor is the wrong way round the slotted adjustable end should be closest to the engine bloc and then the spcer isnt required

Thanks for the pics.

Confirms what I had laid out, and that there is a threaded hole that isn't used, which is good as otherwise I've lost a nut and bolt somewhere!!!

I've managed to clear the threads by using the bolt. Was a lot easier to do when I went to a neighbours and made use of his bench vice.
