Cold Start Injector Location
Discussion
There isn't a separate cold start injector - the ecu reads the input from the temperature sensor and sets the fuel map accordingly, increasing the injector pulse of the 6 normal injectors to richen the mixture.
If the sensor is knacked, it could either:
(a) fail to cold, in which case the car would run too rich all the time, or
(b) fail to hot, in which case the cold srart "choke" effect won't work.
I suspect that if you have problem (a) even partly, then the mixture might be too rich to burn properly when the ecu map adds even more fuel during acceleration, so you would feel a hesitation on acceleration.
I think!

If you're still running those injectors then could that be your emissions and running problem? - obviously depends on the setting of your fuel pressure reg as I said before.
I assume you did replace the damaged injector btw.
Another thing, is the vacuum pipe from the throttle body to the fuel pressure regulator still connected after all your recent works?

Thanks for that Mark, your a star.
Hi Jed,
Yeah I did replace the injector, managed to source a new cap for it. It wouldn't have thought it was the injectors as it was running perfectly fine before. Also you can tell the emissions are high just by standing behind the car and this was not the case prior to rebuild.
We have replaced the vacuum pipe, with it running from the fuel pressure to the front of the plenum, just after where the twin intakes go into the air chamber. That is right isn't it?
Cheers guys

Sounds like the vacuum is connected ok. The only reason I mentioned the injectors again is that I have a spare engine with the injectors you mentioned and is is rather coked up. It does look like it was running rich but I don't have the fuel pressure reg to check to see what pressure it was running at. It does look like TVR may have sourced engines destined for other countries or uses - like commercial vehicles.
Having seen your other post regards ignition timing, you need to sort that first.
