Little while ago picked up a link on here to a guy on Ebay selling sets of 35mm silicone hoses for something or other for a measely tenner, don't know if anyone else took the gamble ( at that price if only got the three short ones it was worth it)I did and with a bit of careful cutting got all five main rad to engine hoses out of them, did have to make top hose in two bits, made a simple joining sleeve from a piece of copper pipe lying around at work. Don't know how to do those clever linky things but this is item No. 250382195962 ends tomorrow !

If you use a bit of copper pipe to make a join - get a straight through solder connector thats used to connect 2 bits of pipe together - the 'yorkshire' type with integral solder ring - saw it in half and solder the half to each end - that then gives you a lip to stop the pipe sliding off. biggrin

Alternatively solder an olive directly to the pipe.

Couple of good hose clips and I don't think will slide off but just to be sure was going to do the olive idea when i can procure a couple ( they don't keep that sort of size in B&Q )
Now just have all heater hoses to sort and that odd size one from inlet manifold down to somewhere below water pump, looks bit tricky to do in silicone probably settle for a new standard item.

Don't forget you will need to tighten the hose clips a couple of times when you put silicon hoses on as they do slacken a bit at first.
