Brake Deceleration Valve
Discussion
OK techies
My deceleration valve has been off the car for some 11 years (long story)! It could be OK but I'm worried that being open to atmosphere it might have corrosion inside. If they are readily available I might just replace it. The Haynes Sierra V6 manual states that the "deceleation control valve is fitted to the models with rear drums". The V8S/S4 also have a valve that looks the same, so is this item the same piece as the Sierra unit? (which I have assumed is the one fitted to the S1/S2/S3?) With regard to the sierra valve it seems that it is an inertia type valve and is set up by changing its angle of mounting (vary its angle to vary its effect on rear brake pressure). So beware to anybody considering moving the valve to another position.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks Tony
