Just a thought,
my s isn't insured at the minute and is kept in my garage thats built into my house.
It is rolling now and soon may start, can I get insurance just to protect it against theft at a reduced rate then up it when its ready to drive etc.
Or is it not worth the hastle.
You'd have to be pretty determined to nick it but as a certain group of the "population" just pulled up all the BT cables in the village I wouldn't put it past them.

I'm sure it would be worthwhile as I cant imagine it would be a lot of money, and I'll bet your house contents insurance does not cover it (might be worth checking that as an alternative though...)
Apart from being nicked your other main risk while under repairs is fire so make sure you have cover against that eventuality.

I know what I would do...

K wink

I can't remember where I saw it but a guy on another forum lost 4 vehicles due to fire - none of which were insured, not to mention the fact that his garage burnt down.
So I guess its worth it - I haven't bothered at the moment but did intend to get it insured when its a runner, pretty similar thoghts to you Mike.

You certainly can, its called lay up insurance or something like that. I would be surprised if its more than £60.

Hagerty do a good deal for this. They even increase the agreed value whilst under restoration too so the cost of work will at least be partially covered

Hi,

you can get laid up policies which cover the car in the garage against theft and fire, But it is not covered on the road.
